2.  5-10 minute warm up period before games.  There is a 3 minute break for halftime.

3.  2 (full = 1 Minute) time outs per game.  The clock always stops on dead balls during overtime. One additional time out will be awarded for overtime.

4.  Overtime period will be two minutes of stop clock sudden death (first team to score wins) is the winner. Each team will be awarded one full time out for the overtime period. If neither team scores in the two minute time period, each team will choose one player to shoot an 8’ shot at the front of the hoop. Each player will shoot until one makes it and one misses (both shall get an equal number of shots). Games cannot end in a tie.

5.  All teams will use a 27.0 or 27.5 size ball. Baskets will be set at 8’ in height for any game a 1st/2nd grade player is participating in.

6.  All teams can play man to man defense only. Teams may NOT press in the back court. ZONE DEFENSE IS NOT PERMITTED AT ANY TIME.

7.  There are NO 3 point field goals.

8.  FOULS and Free Throws - Free throws are not attempted at this level.

  • A foul committed while the offensive player is in the act of shooting will result in ONE point and the ball back to the offense underneath the hoop.

  • Individual and player team fouls are not tracked at this level.

  • If a player receives a technical for any reason, they are immediately disqualified and must be removed for the remainder of the game and the next game.

9.  Players must participate in a minimum of 7 regular season games to be eligible for the end of season League Tournament.  There may be exceptions to the 7 game minimum on a case by case basis, for reasons such as religious beliefs, etc…

10.  The home team will be the team listed on the right or bottom side of the schedule and will be responsible for providing a person to operate the scoreboard.  Away teams will be responsible for providing a “spotter” to assist the scoreboard keeper.

  • Home teams always wears white jersey and Away always wears dark jersey.

  • Teams always warm up opposite their bench as that is the hoop they will begin the game playing offense at.

11.  E.Y.B.C. will require that all players sign a release for medical purposes. This is completed through the registration process.

12.  All players and spectators are expected to conduct themselves with the highest level of sportsmanship at all times.  Officials are a vital aspect of athletics and should be treated with respect. Players or coaches who are ejected from a game may not participate again that day, and are also not allowed to participate during the following EYBC game date.  This could add up to possibly a 4 game suspension!

13. Player Attire - All players are to be dressed in their EYBC uniform with shorts and basketball/court safe shoes. Leggings/Pants are not basketball approved attire. All jewelry must be removed for games this includes necklaces, bracelets, watches and earrings. This is for safety and is directly in line with OSAA rules and will be the requirement as players get older.

14. The end of season tournament will be seeded based on regular season results. Tie breakers will be head to head results and point spread differential in head to head results.

15. Please help to keep operational (janitorial) costs to a minimum by placing any trash in receptacles at all times.  We are all guests of the school district facilities.
